How is this news?! No really? Vista is coming out very late and with so much ripped out of it which might have made it good that Microsoft has to resort to announcing a box design as news?! Sheesh how the mighty have fallen. There is nothing substantive about this so called ‘news’ which might make it worth having ‘a conversation‘ about. Is this just a marketing wonk making a bad decision in an attempt to make noise about a product that might  flop badly. Hey MS wake up and do something amazing, impress us, make us believe again. This does nothing to shift my thinking about what a dinosaur Microsoft has become.  The kind of thinking that brings us Xbox and Zune needs to be in charge of the platform groups and show them how its done. This is the only way MS can avoid extinction.
PS. I am not talking out of my ass. I have been previewing Vista for about 9 months now and the experience had left me feeling very angry at the low quality and lack of true innovation that is about to be unleashed upon the world. Think I’m alone? Think again…this guy really knows what he’s talking about.
